2040 ‘V-Slot’ T-Slot Profile Aluminium Construction Extrusion
Product attributes:
- Same slot profile as our 2020 T-Slot profile, so all 2020 accessories are compatible
- 20mm x 40mm cross section
- Center holes are 4.2mm ID
- T-slot on all faces (with V-Slot top edge profile)
- Anodised Aluminium (6063-T5)
- Weight: ~1kg/m
Product options -> Length selection:
If you require lengths other than those available in the length selector above:
- For each length you require: order the next size up from what you require in the qty you require, e.g. if you require 2 x 240mm order 2 x 250mm
- add a note to your order (available on checkout) saying for the pieces you ordered the length you actually require e.g. 2 x 240mm
- we will trim to your required sizes (no additional charge applies if you order per these instructions)
- Accuracy will be +/- 0.5mm (although we strive to be better than this and usually are)
For the sample scenario above, please don’t order 1 x 500mm and ask us to cut it into 2 x 240mm because we won’t

Cutting options
- default is standard square (90 degree) cuts (accuracy +/- 0.33mm)
End threading options M5 or M6
- Select 1 (both holes) or both (all holes) ends,
- Used for adding screw-in feet and for butt jointing etc
- We tap an M5/ M6 thread to a minimum depth of 20mm
Mill & drill 11mm land for M6 Hex Cap screw
- We mill an 11mm land to the depth of the T-Slot, we then drill a 6.35mm hole through the land and out the other side
- Allows a very strong butt jointing of an end threaded piece of 2020 / 2040 when using M6x30mm hex cap head screw
- If you select this option, you need to clearly tell us where you want the milling done
- (Note: Is always on the centerline of the slot you have indicated, this service does not offer the option to offset from the centerline of a slot). If you require an offset from the slot centerline please contact us with clear and specific requirements for a custom quote

Combined with the M6 threading option above, and M6x30mm Cap head bolts these options facilitate this type of strong clean butt joints:
Drill tool hole
- We drill a 5.5mm tool hole on the face you indicate
- Allows butt jointing an end theaded piece of 2020 / 2040 when using an M6x25mm button head screw
- Is always on the centerline, this service does not offer the option to offset from the centerline
- If you select this option, you need to clearly tell us where you want the milling done

We offer the machining options above at a very low cost to you. This means we request you make an effort to communicate very clearly what you require to minimise any additional back and forth. I suggest you draw a picture, maybe take a clear photo/s with you phone and email it in
